Newly elected Tanzanian President, John Pombe Magufuli’s impressive performance has put him at loggerheads with President Uhuru Kenyatta and Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
According to an aide close to the Tanzanian new leader, Magufuli’s fight against corruption, laziness and wastage in his country has infuriated Uhuru and Museveni because ‘he is making them look bad to their citizens’.
The aide said that over the last one month, Magufuli has been trying to reach Uhuru and Museveni but he is always told by their aides that they are busy or in a meeting.
“The most common excuse he has been getting is that they are in a meeting. But, surely, no one has meetings for a whole consecutive week that runs into the wee hours of the night,” said Magufuli’s aide.
The aide said that Magufuli has also found himself out of EA President’s WhatsApp group where they share about leadership and the state of their nations.
He also said that Uhuru and Museveni have been joined by Rwanda’s President, Paul Kagame who has ‘unfriended’ him on social media and stopped ‘following’ him.
Museveni and Uhuru are yet to respond to these accusations from Magufuli’s aide.
